The scientific system and the network of technology partners contribute directly to the innovation and technological development of E-REDES, anticipating many of the changing trends in the electricity sector and in electricity distribution. 

How do we do it? 

Creation of a Technological Roadmap up to 2030. This presents an integrated vision of the company's transformation initiatives in the context of energy transition, communicated across the entire organization and structured in 6 areas of action of a Distribution Network Operator:

• Client, Municipalities and Market Interaction;
• Asset Planning and Management;
• Network Management;
• Operations;
• New Network Solutions;
• Digital Platform.
• Strong focus on digitalization of services. There is a cumulative investment between 2021-2025 of €595 million in digital CAPEX and OPEX. In 2021, this investment was 120 million euros.
• New platforms and solutions to promote the accomplishment of the energy transition. An example of these is the new digital smart charging system for electric vehicles, which maximizes the electrical infrastructure in buildings.
• New services for Smart Cities. A more recent example is the implementation of telemanagement for public lighting.
• Strategic partnerships and joint projects with the European R&D ecosystem in the field of digitalization, energy transition and decarbonisation. We have formed hundreds of national and international partnerships, in particular with universities and research and development institutes. We have participated in more than 33 European projects in the last two European Community Support Frameworks, involving more than 400 internal employees.
