E-REDES has awarded 15 merit scholarships to young women graduating from Master's programs in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. The E-REDES Top Women Scholarship initiative was launched in May this year and aims to contribute to equal opportunities between men and women in access to professional careers in engineering areas and, at the same time, attract more young women to the E-REDES staff, ensuring greater gender diversity and qualified resources in the promotion of energy transition.
The selected young women were distinguished on December 6th, at an event that took place in Lisbon and that marked the Company's commitment to promoting gender equality.
The winning students will receive a scholarship of 2 thousand euros each and will start a mentoring program in the Company in which they will be accompanied by E-REDES mentors during the defined course.
The promotion of gender equality has been assuming, nowadays, growing importance as a way to promote equal opportunities in the workplace. E-REDES wants to achieve a new cycle regarding Diversity & Inclusion and reach 16.3% female representation by the end of 2022.
