InovGrid Project

The way that clients interact with electric grids is changing. InovGrid is the answer to that change.

By the end of 2024, around 6.3 million consumer premises will have been integrated into the smart grid, thus completing one of the major challenges underlying the energy transition.

Smart meters are the most visible aspect of the new Smart Grid platform. However, in order to make all the services available to end consumers, it is necessary to set up an advanced technological infrastructure, which also includes DTC (Distribution Transformer Controllers). These devices are installed in the transformer substations that supply various low voltage consumption sites and ensure two-way communication between the thousands of meters installed across the country and the E-REDES information systems.

Following this path, E-REDES launched the Inovgrid 20-30 project, in line with the National Climate Energy Plan (PNEC). This is a true roadmap for modernisation, which seeks to respond to the new needs of a society that is increasingly involved in advanced smart grid solutions.
