InovGrid project
Energy is constantly changing and this is the force that carries us into the future.
E-REDES has invested in quality of service and continuous improvement of efficiency in electricity distribution, based on the premise of digitalisation and the energy transition, as well as the development of differentiating services capable of making the electricity grid smarter, more efficient and sustainable.
Aware of its role as an active agent of change, E-REDES launched InovGrid, a project aimed at reaching the technological forefront in terms of smart electricity grids, guaranteeing environmental sustainability, energy efficiency and transparency in customer relations.
ATEP
The Porto Energy Transition Accelerator (ATEP), formalised in July 2020, aims to respond to the challenges of the energy transition, under which E-REDES plans to invest 500 million euros by 2030 in order to make the networks smarter, with a strong focus on technology and digitalisation.
Part of InovGrid 20-30, the ATEP provides for the development of innovative technological solutions in the city, in areas such as decentralised production, optimised charging for electric mobility and public lighting.
The project also includes the Porto Energy Transition Centre (CTEP), an educational space on the evolution of smart grids and cities and a catalyst for good practice, in partnership with scientific, academic and business institutions, in which citizens play a central role as active agents in the energy transition.
This centre makes it possible to monitor, in a pedagogical and assertive way, the results of various investments that have already been made in Porto and that are bringing about a real energy (r)evolution in the city, namely with regard to the transition to electric mobility powered by 100% clean energy, the decentralised production of renewable energy with the Porto Solar Project, with emphasis on the first Renewable Energy Community to be developed in the Agra do Amial neighbourhood, which will be an example for other investments to be made in the city in terms of decarbonisation and efficient use of energy.
