The 25 thousand calendars produced by E-REDES, in partnership with the GNR, will be distributed in all the districts of mainland Portugal to the population in the most vulnerable situation due to their age, physical or psychological condition or any other condition that could jeopardize their safety. For this purpose, more than 400 soldiers from the Crime Prevention and Community Policing Sections will be involved in partnership with members of E-REDES, who will monitor the distribution to this community.
These calendars are also a vehicle for disseminating the telephone contact details of the authorities, with a specific field for noting the contact details of the Crime Prevention and Community Policing Sections, with the aim of bringing the E-REDES population closer to the security forces.
The whole process of distributing the calendars allows us to reinforce our proximity to and assistance for vulnerable populations, and also represents an opportunity to reinforce safety and self-protection behaviors that reduce the risk of the elderly becoming victims of crime, particularly in situations of violence, fraud and theft, as well as preventing and combating social isolation, alerting and raising awareness among families and informal caregivers.
