2nd edition of the Electrical Grid Meeting in Seia

E-REDES pretende alargar oferta formativa do curso profissional Técnico de Redes Elétricas a escolas do Algarve, Alentejo, Grande Lisboa e Porto.

E-REDES promoted the second edition of the Electrical Grid Meeting in Seia, a meeting for students of the Electrical Grid Technician course of the Secondary Schools of Seia and Vila Real de Santo António who, in the current school year, finish the 12th grade and intend to join the labor market.

This initiative aims to meet the perceived needs for highly qualified professionals, especially in these regions, under a partnership established with the Ministry of Education and Science.

This event, integrated in the E-REDES' Include to Iluminate program, aims to support the Electrical Network Technician Professional Course, with the objective of qualifying Network Technicians to work in a key sector of society, currently experiencing a moment of generational renewal and technological challenge to respond to the ongoing energy transition.

The activities developed during the 3 days in Seia, allowed to bring students closer to active life, through practical exercises performed in the E-REDES Training Park, to give them greater visibility with the company's business partners, possible facilitators of professional internships and future employers, and to encourage networking between students from the two schools present.

The Electrical Network Technician Professional Course, adapted to the needs of the labor market, counts on the participation of E-REDES in the definition of the syllabus of the technological training subjects and in the planning of the training. The distribution network operator is responsible for nominating a tutor to accompany each school and ensure regular visits by the students to the company's facilities and to works in progress. E-REDES is also responsible for guaranteeing 600 hours of internship, to be distributed between the 11th and 12th grades, and organizes inter-school events, such as the Electrical Grid Meeting and the Academy for Energy Transition, for final-year students.

The preparation of future professionals for a technologically attractive function in a strategic sector for society, assumes an essential role for E-REDES, in order to attract the attention of young people for a profession of the future and schools interested in expanding the training offer. Enrollment for new students entering the 10th grade, in schools that adhere to the program, takes place between July 15 and 20, at the Enrollment Portal
