"Portugal Chama" : A campaign for the prevention of all

E-REDES is associated, for the fifth consecutive year, with the "Portugal Chama" campaign, promoted by the Agency for Integrated Management of Rural Fires (AGIF).

This campaign plays a key role in alerting the population to the need to avoid risky behavior, as well as disseminating the precautions to be taken before and during the fire season.

The results of this campaign, which involves several national and private entities, is an appeal to all citizens to mobilize and contribute to the reduction of fires by adopting behaviors that do not put the forest at risk.

In the results presented of the campaign, at the time of AGIF's appeal to its partners, since 2019, they are quite visible:

  • The number of fires has halved;
  • The number of fires due to the use of fire in the summer months has decreased significantly;
  •  There has been a reinforcement of human and material means.

As the operator of an overhead electrical power distribution network 179,000 kilometers long, 28,000 of which are in forest areas, E-REDES is an active voice in this joint mission.

This year, help us keep Portugal free of flames and contribute to a safe summer by adopting conscious and responsible behavior.
