E-REDES installs two new transformer stations in Ponte de Lima

An investment of 70 thousand euros will reinforce the quality of service in the municipality

E-REDES, the EDP group company responsible for operating the electricity distribution network in mainland Portugal, installed two new transformer stations (PT) in the parishes of Facha (Porteladia) and Gemieira (Lage), in the municipality of Ponte de Lima.

The infrastructures, which are already in operation, have a combined power output of 350 kVA and the Medium Voltage (MV) branches are 200 meters long.

The area's low voltage (LV) network was reinforced in an approximate extension of 500 meters, implying the installation/replacement of 10 LV supports, thus resulting in better network management.

The works, which represented an investment of about 70 thousand euros, will significantly strengthen the quality of service in the parishes covered by the new infrastructure, will provide the network with greater capacity and resilience, and will also ensure the availability of power to meet new requests for electricity to the areas in question.

For E-REDES, this procedure in close collaboration with the municipality of Ponte de Lima fits into its policy of optimizing the quality of service and energy efficiency, resulting from the commitment that the company made to the local authority.
