E-REDES started the works related to the construction of the new Arregota Nova substation and respective High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) network, in the municipality of Grândola. These electrical infrastructures represent an investment of around 4 million euros and will supply around 3.7 thousand residential customers and 46 business customers.
The construction of the new Arregota Nova substation, an E-REDES infrastructure that will be part of the National Electric System, has already started and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2023. The work began with deforestation and earthworks, and the foundations of the control building are now being concreted and the respective pillars and remaining structure are being prepared.
Besides the new substation, which will have an initial installed power of 20 MVA, the HV network will also be built, which will feed the substation and the entire new MV network, which will be interconnected to the existing network, improving the quality of service in this part of the Alentejo coast.
These new infrastructures are part of the Company's policy of investment and maintenance in the electricity grid, with the main axes being the improvement in the supply of electricity, the increase in grid resilience, the renovation and rehabilitation of assets, automation and digitalization in grid management, along with optimization measures in operations.
