The Poldra substation, located in the municipality of Aljezur, started operating today, after 12 months of construction.
This substation and the Medium Voltage (MV) network support, had an overall investment of 335 thousand euros, ensures a power of 10 MVA, and will supply approximately 700 residential customers and one business customer.
These infrastructures are critical and essential in the energy distribution network, in that they allow for the transformation of different voltage levels, increasing the capacity and quality of the energy supply, and can also function as delivery points for industrial consumers.
A work of this nature requires the participation of several partners since these units are increasingly complex and with state-of-the-art technology, to allow, among other features, their automatic and remote management. In this project, E-REDES had the involvement of several companies, among which we highlight: CME, SIEMENS, ABB, JJTOMÉ, LVTEC, Carlos Gil, and LABELEC.
This new infrastructure is part of E-REDES' policy of investment and maintenance in the electrical network, with the main axes being the increase of network resilience, the renovation, and rehabilitation of assets, automation, and digitalization in network management with optimization measures in operations.
