José Ferrari Careto assumed the presidency of E-REDES (former EDP Distribuição). The manager, with a degree in Economics from Nova Business School, has been with EDP since 2003 and was responsible for the Group's technology and digital area. Previously he had also held the position of marketing director within EDP, having also been a director of several subsidiaries.
Between 2006 and 2012 he was a member of the Board of Directors of Autoridade Reguladora das Comunicações, ANACOM. Previously he had been a director of several companies in the telecommunications sector.
Ferrari Careto succeeds João Torres, who has been at the head of the electricity distributor for the last 15 years and who has now taken on strategic advisory duties for the implementation of the Global Distribution and Transmission Networks Platform, communicated within the scope of EDP's Business Plan for 2021-2025.
E-REDES is the company that manages the high, medium and low voltage distribution networks, keeping more than six million customers connected.
