On 16 February, around 200 volunteers took part in a reforestation action in Seia, Senhora do Desterro, promoted by Seia Municipal Council, with the support of EDP Distribuição.
Thanks to this initiative it was possible to plant part of the 5,000 Medronheiros donated by EDP Distribuição, rearesting a burnt area of 5 hectares.
In total, trees have already been donated to 8 of the 14 applications to the 'Preserve Nature' competition, corresponding to the municipalities of Figueira da Foz, Leiria, Castro Daire, Gouveia, Mação, Seia, Vila Nova de Poiares and Vouzela. Thanks to this initiative, EDP Distribuição acquired a total of 173,640 trees, worth EUR 101,808, which will be used to reforest around 209 hectares.
