As a result of improving weather conditions and the tireless work of EDP Distribuição's operational teams, the number of consumers without energy has been reducing, although still very high (thousands). There are still a hundred High and Medium Voltage (AT / MT) lines reported to be inoperative with damaged poles. The districts of Viseu, Coimbra and Guarda are, at this moment, the most affected, and there is no forecast of full resolution of the energy supply.
EDP Distribuição maintains the disrupted state and mobilization of more than 1,500 field operatives, given the extent of the damage to the electricity grid and the many difficult situations to resolve. Additionally, the company has been implementing mitigation measures, namely by installing about 60 generators to meet the needs of affected customers.
The Company remains strongly committed to the rapid standardization of its electricity supply service, always in close coordination with the local authorities and with national and local security and civil protection authorities.
