EDP Distribuição promoted a rescue exercise drill at a high voltage power line at Espinhal, Penela municipality, in collaboration with the Penela Voluntary Firefighters Humanitarian Association.
The exercise was carried out on a 60 kV High Voltage airline between Vila Nova and Penela, and contemplated two distinct moments: a first exercise consisting in the rescue of an unconscious employee while performing work at height, namely the replacement of a chain of insulators and a second exercise, which consisted of rescuing another employee who was unconscious while installing avifauna flags on the airline's conductors.
The drill, which involved around 40 participants, allowed us to identify what went positively, as well as the aspects that could be improved, as part of EDP Distribuição's training and capacity-building programs for emergency response.
Through this exercise, the company remains committed to consolidating a culture of positive safety with customers, employees and service providers, geared towards a strategic goal of “zero accidents, no personal injury” as well as implementing best practices. that foster a culture of continuous improvement and bet on resilience.
