The Global Smart Energy Summit is an initiative of Middle East Electricity, and it took place between 5 and 7 March in Dubai. Middle East Electricity, internationally recognized as a global hub of the energy industry and considered the leading international trade event in the Middle East for the energy sector, has decided to hold for the first time the Global Smart Energy Summit, a conference which aims to present innovative case studies of some of the largest and most renowned companies in the world, focusing on the themes of Smart Cities, Renewable Energy, Energy Storage and Analytics and Digital Transformation in the energy sector.
It was three days of dialogue, networking and presentations that brought together energy leaders from regional governments, regulators, utilities, consultants, end consumers and pioneering smart energy companies around the world.
Following its participation in the SAS Energy Forum in Madrid, EDP Distribuição was invited by SAS to present, in the section dedicated to Analytics, the CSeye project, developed for the EDP Distribuição Supervision Centre. Rita Viegas, from the Organization and Development Directorate, presented the project, which once again received positive reviews and led to the debate on the topic of analytics and presentation of information.
During the conference there was also widespread concern with energy sustainability and renewable energy investment, which was the subject of several presentations, focusing on the use of solar panel and battery technologies for energy storage.
The balance of these three days is very positive. In addition to engaging discussions, the ability to interact with engineers, researchers and founders of various utilities around the world has made it possible not only to gain a comprehensive view of the concerns and challenges presently faced but also the possibilities for improvement and innovation that are being developed and experienced.
This is undoubtedly an event to accompany, where EDP Distribuição has already been able to disseminate a little of what it knows!
