EDP Distribuição declared a state of alert after announcement of Storm Ana

EDP Distribuição has declared a state of alert from the early afternoon of this Sunday for the regions north of the Tagus, and may decide to adopt the same measure throughout the day for the entire territory of mainland Portugal.

This decision, in accordance with the Operational Plan for Crisis Operations, arises from the announcement of adverse weather conditions, particularly gusting wind and heavy rain, which can significantly affect the regular supply of electricity.

The company ensured the reinforcement of the operational teams on the ground while on the other hand all routine and scheduled activities were suspended or reduced to a minimum.

The verification of the location and accessibility of resources in reserve, namely vehicles, generators, mobile substations, as well as materials to be used for rapid replacement of grids that may be affected, is also completed. EDP Distribuição maintains close liaison with local and national Civil Protection structures, as well as permanent liaison with IPMA (Portuguese weather agency) to guarantee up-to-date information.
