Producers
Connection power ≤ 250 kW
Self-consumption production units with connection power ≤250 kW
Order 30/2018 of the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG) determines that the installation of a production unit in the consumer installation must:
- Maintain the exemption from the application of homopolar protection for installations of Small Production Unit or Production Unit for Self-consumption of power equal to or less than 250 kW, equipped with AC/DC inverters with the protections required for inclusion in the list of equipment published on the DGEG website;
- Maintain the exemption from the application of interconnection protections for Small Production Unit or Self-consumption Production Unit installations with a power equal to or less than 250 kW, equipped with AC/DC inverters with the protections required for inclusion in the list of equipment published on the DGEG website.
However, in view of the current paradigm of distributed generation, automation and dynamic configuration of networks, E-REDES, as distribution network operator, considers that the installation of interconnection protection, including the homopolar function, for medium voltage customers with a generation unit with an installed power equal to or less than 250 kW is the most appropriate technical solution to safeguard the safety of people and goods.
In this sense, although the connection of the production unit under the conditions of the DGEG Order is accepted, we emphasize that no responsibility can be attributed to E-REDES for any occurrences that impact the safety of people and goods and the production unit itself, and it is up to the respective holder to prove that the inverters were equipped and had in good working order the protections mentioned in the aforementioned DGEG Order.
If you choose to install an interconnection protection, we are available to provide the necessary clarifications.
