Gridwise wins Kaizen Awards

E-REDES has won another important accolade with the GridWise project, this time first prize in the innovation category at the Kaizen Awards.

The KAIZEN Awards Portugal recognize organizations that implement excellent Lean and KAIZEN practices. The best companies were recognized for their effective, innovative and exceptional implementation of KAIZEN principles and methodology.

João Martins de Carvalho took to the stage to receive the 1st prize for the Gridwise project, which was the big winner in the Innovation category, thus recognizing E-REDES' commitment to innovation and the importance it assumes in the organization.

GridWise is an innovative platform that emerged in 2023 and brings together various initiatives for monitoring and controlling low-voltage (LV) electricity grids using cutting-edge technology. With the application of artificial intelligence, IoT, Big Data and Edge Computing for real-time data analysis, this platform offers an innovative approach to managing electricity grids.

The future of the project also involves including the alarm data generated, real-time measurements and indicators in an advanced distribution network management system (ADMS), enabling coordinated management between high, medium and low voltage.

The awards ceremony for the 13th edition, which had more than 650 applications and 4,500 participants, took place on May 16 at the Nova School of Business & Economics in Carcavelos, and was attended by more than 250 people.

This award recognizes the importance and strong contribution of this project to meeting the challenges of the energy transition, particularly with regard to the evolution of low-voltage network management. It will undoubtedly serve as an incentive to continue developing this innovation initiative and many others. It is also recognition for the vast multidisciplinary team that made it possible.
