The "E" symbol gains dynamism in the digital environment, becoming an element of inexhaustible energy, connecting businesses, companies and, most importantly, people, in a constant energy network, which refers to the company's main function.
In addition to the name change from EDP Distribuição to E-REDES, the new brand will have a dynamic logo, whose graphic line will be marked by the new name of the company in black with the color yellow in the background. This change in image, which no longer has elements of color or design common to other companies in the EDP universe, reinforces the identification and uniqueness of the distribution network operator.
This change in image, which no longer has elements of color or design common to other companies in the EDP universe, also reinforces the identification, uniqueness and neutrality of the distribution network operator.
The process of image separation between operators of the same economic group within the electricity sector, in line with European Commission indications, was approved by the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) on 11 August 2020, followed by the development of an action plan to ensure cost neutrality and guarantee the transition to the new brand without any impact on consumers and other stakeholders.
Responsible for the management of the high and medium voltage grids, whose grantor is the State, and of low voltage, through municipal concessions, E-REDES operates 228 thousand km of distribution network. To achieve this, it counts on the daily involvement and unparalleled professionalism of more than 3 thousand employees and about 4,500 service providers to the satisfaction of 6.2 million customers.
As a reference operator at a European level in the management of energy distribution networks and an active agent in the energy transition, guaranteeing the provision of an essential public service of excellence, E-REDES is committed to guaranteeing the provision of an essential public service through a quality service, focused on the customer and guided by strong social responsibility.
As of today, EDP Distribuição, the company that manages the energy distribution network in mainland Portugal under a concession regime, will be renamed E-REDES - Distribuição de Eletricidade, SA (E-REDES).
A new brand, the same network energy. A new brand, the same mission:
To guarantee electricity supply for all consumers, with quality, safety and efficiency;
Promote development of the distribution network that supports the energy transition;
Ensure, in an exempt manner, the availability of services to market agents.
